This guy was playing music outside of my school the other day when I left my Topics in Music of the 20th Century class.  On his left, he has like three knobs which tune strings, then a crank on the right that he turns to make sound, and then uses little keys in the middle for the pitches.  Not only was he playing this awesome instrument, but he was singing what I’m guessing is a Czech folk song really loudly.

My awesome aunt heidi was able to identify this as a Hurdy Gurdy.  Don’t ask how she knows; she just does.
